WASHINGTON, D.C. – “The American Islamic Congress offers its condolences to the victims, families, and all Bostonians affected by yesterday’s attacks in Boston,” said AIC’s Executive Director Ms. Zainab Al-Suwaij. “We are heartbroken by this tragedy, and condemn those responsible for this terrorist attack. Boston has been AIC’s home since 2002, and it remains a focal point of AIC’s programs and activities today. We know that the Boston community is resilient, and that it will be able to heal after yesterday’s events. We hope for a full and speedy recovery for the victims and their loved ones. We are confident that those responsible will swiftly be brought to justice.

“We would also like to take this moment to thank all of those who have inquired about the safety of our own staff in our Boston Center just a few blocks from Copley Square. Thankfully nobody was hurt and all of our staff has been accounted for.”
